Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don't really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

My thoughts on my results? Well, before Pierre, we (my family) lived in the KC area; Ft Peck, Montana; & somewhere in Wisconsin (I don't recall exactly where)... Plus, I lived in Washington for a year+, so I have been exposed to a lot of accents. Also, I have heard that the Midwest, in general, is considered a neutral accent.

I got me a Northern accent.
Not too surprising I suppose, since Southern Minnesota was included in the Northern accent territory.
I have a Northern accent as well, and people here say I have a bit of drawl. I did grow up my whole life amongst cow-baughs.
